Vocal fold nodules are the thickening or callus formation on the vocal folds. It’s commonly seen in children, professional speakers, singers, and teachers. It’s more common in women than men.

The main causes behind it are usually smoking, vocal abuse, and reflux. Its symptoms are hoarseness, diplophonia, and Globus sensation.

NPE is conducted to diagnose this disorder. To treat it, you need voice rest, speech therapy, and avoiding casual irritants to treat it. Surgery is rarely needed for this.
